  1. What is Centrl?
    Centrl is a location-based social network that helps you connect with your friends, share your favorite locations, discover new places, meet new people and find special money saving offers.
  2. How much does it cost to use Centrl?
    Absolutely nothing, nada, zero, zilch! Centrl is free to join and free to use. Now and always.
  3. How do I join Centrl?
    You and your friends can use Centrl through your existing social networking account. No need to create a new profile or account. We support Facebook, MySpace, Hi5, Ning, Bebo, Friendster and Orkut.
    Centrl is also available for your iPhone, Blackberry or Android device, or on the web at http://centrl.com.
  4. How do I get Centrl for my mobile device?

  6. Is my privacy protected?
    Yes. Your location is shared ONLY with your friends. And you can turn off sharing completely whenever you want to. (See our Privacy Policy for complete details.)
  7. Many companies keep a log of my real locations and sell that data to third parties. Does Centrl do this too?
    No, your privacy and safety is one of our most important goals. We never sell or share your location data. In fact, we never keep a log of your locations. Your last location is always overwritten by your new location. And if you do not update your location for a week, we remove your last location from our database.
  8. Can I be completely invisible?
    Absolutely. Just set yourself to be invisible. You can still use the system but noone can see you or interact with you.
  9. Does Centrl work with Twitter?
    Yes!

    1 ) Enter your Twitter name and password in Centrl settings.
    2 ) You will receive an email from Twitter saying that 'Centrl' is now following you.
    3 ) Now you can send 'direct messages' to Centrl on Twitter.

    Now, you can send a "direct message" to Centrl to update your location from anywhere, in the following format:

    "d centrl my message L:my current address"

    Here are some examples:

    "d centrl Found a great sale! L:1000 Broadway, New York, NY"
    "d centrl I won! L:las vegas, NV"

    You can also tell Centrl to update your Twitter status whenever you do something interesting in Centrl.
  10. How does Centrl work with other social networking sites?
    Centrl has applications in Facebook, MySpace, Hi5, Ning, Orkut, Bebo and Friendster.
  11. Do I have to create a new Centrl account to join?
    Absolutely not. You and your friends can join by using your existing social network profiles. Just add the Centrl application in your social network.
  12. Great, so now I am using Centrl in my social network. How do I connect my phone to it?
    In your Social Network application, go to "Settings"->"Networks"->"Link Mobile Phone" and enter the "ID" shown from your mobile device's "Settings"->"Link Social Network" section. This will link your social network profile to your phone so you can access your social network contacts from your phone.
  13. What's the deal with coupons?
    Centrl provides you with special money-saving coupons and offers. Depending on your location and the time of day, Centrl offers special deals that cater individually to you.
  14. How do I present these coupons to merchants?
    Enlarge the coupon on your mobile device by pressing "go fullscreen' and start saving money instantly
  15. My friends might be interested in this particular coupon. How do I share it with them?
    You can share coupons with friends simply by clicking "Share" on the coupon info window.
  16. Can I save a coupon to use later?
    Of course, just click on "Save" on the coupon info window and find it later in your saved deals list.
  17. Can my business offer coupons on Centrl?

  18. What are points and how do I earn them?
    Every time you enter Centrl, chat, share a location, photo or view a deal, you earn points. You can use these points to send virtual gifts to your friends.
  19. Sounds cool, but what's a virtual gift?
    Virtual gifts are special tokens that you can send to friends to show that you care. And there are more virtual gift categories coming soon.
